Diana’s Shoe Blog
New Month. New Money. New Shoes! or Thedianaverse goes Malono on you.
Now that my new money has come in I can finally do something about my shoes. Last week one of them seemed to be listing and today the other one had sprung a hole and managed to pick up a stow away! This is not something you want to discover, it is bad enough to be walking around with a hole in your shoe is quite another to find that you are not alone.
It was just a wood chip, but still. It was a passenger and it was aboard with out my knowledge. Ew.
So. I’m going to hit DSW and find new shoes. I was thinking about going at lunch but new shoe shopping is not something that should be done in haste or with an empty stomach so that field trip is going to have to wait. I did manage to do some research on shoes, so when I walk into DSW I won’t be totally over whelmed by the sheer shoe-yness of the scene. I don’t even really like shopping for shoes ( see:poor) and even I get a bit weak in the knees when I walk in there.
So I went online. My first stop was Overstock.com. It’s a good starting place. I saw many, many shoes. Very few appropriate to the work environment
Or at least, my work environment. I’m sure there are tittybars and street corners where those are not on celibrated but required as part of the dress code. My sheer underwhelmedness was overwhelming me. Until
Now, these, these are good. I’m not sure they would be workplace compliant but people walk around here in stiletto healed flip flops and FM pumps so I can be a little edgy and get away with it. But I’m not sure that I’m in a flaming shoe place everyday. Sometimes I’m more in a nonflaming shoe mood. So these
I thought would be just about perfect. I’m trying to move away from my standard brown loafer. but not oblviously too far away, and I think a nice blueloafer would fill the bill. This is a major step shoe wise for me: as a young child I was mocked for blue shoe wearing and it was scaring, I am scarred to this day. I’m trying to heal and move on though. I started searching for other, back up, blue loafers and found
Lovely, very, very nice and no doubt very worthy of its $368.00 price tag. These shoes are so nice, I fear I might not be worthy of them.
And whatever I end up with must be able to live through The Kitty’s occasion drift into Leather Queendom. He doesn’t do it often but sometimes he trots out his leather fetish and chews on my leather shoes. I can’t pay huge bucks for what may very well become a cat toy.
Then I found these
I fell in love. $55, is not cheap, but they may very well be better made then my current $19.00 pair I’m wearing out now. I may have to go to Nordstrom… I think Malono would aprove.
