Oh, wait, we are losing interest in Doughterys legal issues, arrested again draws a mere 50,900 mentions. The BBC was kind enough to go to the trouble of making a Time Line of his sad downward spiral/arrests. According to the time line he got fired from a group called The Libertines, how much of a screw up do you have to be to have a bunch of self described libertines fire you for being a real life Libertine? And if I was a burn out wastrel from the greater metropolitan London area, I would feel really unloved. There must be hundreds of guys out there trying to be the best junkies they can be, and he comes this celebrity junkie hogging up all the press. I can’t imagine it’s easy for the other junkies to get any attention at all - even from the cops - who seem to be ignoring them in favor of following Doherty around 24-7. How sad is it for these less famous wastrels that they can’t even manage to get arrested? I feel bad for them. These poor less famous junkies have worked really hard for years to be a complete and total disappointment to their friends and family, thrown their lives and health away and this guy just comes along and sucks up all the available resources not to mention all the available junkie glory. Can't you see the other burn outs out there shaking their little fists in the air "I was face down in the gutter years before he was! Where is the BBC time line of my sad downward spiral!!. I can see how Doherty’s’ people are working the whole wastrel angle: Keep it up Pete! It is so rock and roll! I mean look at Jim Morrison! He was a total wastrel! Don’t you feel for all the other less famous strung out junkies in London right now? they can’t even get arrested, the cops don’t want to bust them not with King Smack out there running around and even worse, the less famous junkies can’t pass out in the street in peace with out being swarmed by the press hoping to have run across King Smack himself. It must be miserable.
