Wednesday

What happened today?

I walked in the door after work and kicked over the dogs full bowl of water - Decided to not throw a fit and used the opportunity - Huge puddle of water all over my floor, spreading rapidly in all directions, as an chance to mop my dirty floor! ( trying to clean it up with paper towels failed miserably and was a dumb idea.) The mop was a better choice  Whee! Don't get too excited, I only moped what was wet, the corners are still kind of gross.

My father successfully went through his second knee replacement, he is now is a veteran of two knees and a shoulder replacement. He is is own Iron Man.  He is recovering well.

They told us that the storm was supposed to be a Bad Thing for us, was going to get here earlier in the day and fuck up our trips home - it hasn't arrived yet, and while its colder than a witches tit outside, it is not storming either. I am feeling positive about our chances.

On the less positive. A family friend that had been fighting and winning his battle with an inoperable brain tumor, died this afternoon. He was a really good guy. He owned a landmark store that employed half the undergrads in the town and saved many of us unnecessary trips further into town for single items, I saw his card once and it had to be continued on the other side. Did you need someone to tow your car? He's your guy, and he'll tell you who can fix it,  if you need that tree taken out of your yard? He's your guy, Do you have a lot of crap on your porch and you need it hauled to the lot? He has a truck! Do you need a well dug? He knows a guy, Do you need someone to officiate your wedding? He's your guy. He married a couple less than a month ago. He was my elf every Christmas too, I left him an ornament and he put it somewhere on MIP where it could be seen. RIP Phil Pearce.
